Fens Tourism was set up in the early nineties to market and promote the Fens as a visitor destination for the first time and since them, it has managed to produce some excellent marketing material, attending exhibitions in England and abroad, and attracting journalists from local, regional and nation press.

The result is a strong visitor message, interesting editorials, inspiring photographic images and an awareness of the Fens as a visitor destination with lots to offer.

Fens Tourism is to become a company limited by guarantee – a not for profits enterprise set up to raise the profile of the Fens as a tourist destination.  This will enable Fens Tourism to have a more resilient foundation, which will enable them to achieve even more in the way of tangible results for the public and private sector tourism businesses which it represents, and also to access new investment sources.  Members of the tourism community across the Fens will have the opportunity to sign up to support the new status of the organisation.  The membership scheme will ensure that all members benefit from their entitlements, and will become more informed of any developments and also become more involved in the workings of the Fens Tourism Group.
