Canal with boats on it
The Fens offer a wide choice of recreational and competitive sporting and leisure activities. Whether you enjoy walking, cycling, angling or bird watching, the unique environment of the Fens promises an exceptional experience.

Walking and cycling are done at an easy pace, the quiet lanes and flat terrain offer the right atmosphere in which to explore and relax. There are some exceptional walking and cycling routes available all over the Fens. A walk around the Wash for instance is an escape of time and space, where else can you glimpse a rare or unusual wading bird less than metres from a field being tilled for agriculture. Hire a bike, or bring your own, there is everything for both the cycling enthusiast and the casual biker.

There are a wide choice of golf courses in the Fens for the beginner and the expert alike. Leisure Centres offer a vast choice of sporting activities including indoor and outdoor tennis, squash, indoor and outdoor bowling, badminton, and swimming.

For the keen angler, catch your supper or just chill out in the peaceful surroundings, or explore by boat, gliding through the gentle waters, soaking up the atmosphere and keeping an eye out for the wildlife.
